Second Trimester Recap

I can’t believe the time is here, we are officially in the third trimester.

I figured I would recap what I experienced during the second trimester, just know everyone is so different.

I started getting more and more energy after 14 weeks, I don’t think I felt more like myself till I was 18 weeks. Getting back into hot yoga definitely helped for me. The heat felt so good on this body that felt so tight and uncomfortable after not being in the hot room for almost 6 months.

We traveled to FL to visit family around week 20. It was a LONG day of travel going to and from FL. I look back and taking that long of a trip during pregnancy isn’t the best idea. I also hate traveling, but still. If it was a 3 hour plane ride that would be one thing, but this was a red eye with 8+ hours of travel both ways.

If you’re traveling during any point in pregnancy make sure to drink so much water, wear compression socks & walk around the plane when you can.

I’ve also been keeping up with my fitness routine which is said to help with labor and delivery. My weekly workouts all depend on how many yoga classes I am teaching. I take hot yoga 3-5xs a week, 1 to 2 hot Pilates classes or Barre3, and walk Finn anywhere from a mile to 5 miles. Like I said, it all depends on how much I am teaching yoga each week.

Staying active is something that’s so important to me so it’s no surprise that I have continued with it through pregnancy!

The one struggle I did experience was heartburn. Ugh it was tough, it felt like I was going to have a heart attack and then I panicked more. I changed my diet up to focus more on fruits and vegetables rather than being so consumed with getting fats and proteins. I even start most days with fresh celery juice on an empty stomach. But what I’ve learned that I really think helps is to keep my dinners small and something that’s easy to digest oh and no chocolate at night. And it’s working!

We’ve got SO much happening during the third trimester (baby showers, birthing classes etc) that I think it’s going to by even faster!
